I care about people in Central Illinois going through family law matters, and I have the experience and skills to help. I am founding Fulk Family Law in 2025, after 18 years of practice, in order to better equip myself and my staff to provide consistent, reliable, caring, high quality family law services in our community. I believe that every community can benefit from having a good divorce attorney who cares about helping, and hope to do my part to fill that need.
I developed an interest in family law and a particular empathy for individuals and children navigating the divorce process over the course of my own experiences growing up in Normal, and then chose to return to my hometown to practice after law school. I have since practiced family law in Central Illinois courts continuously for the past 18 years while raising my own family. That is just about all I have done for the past 18 years, as I find both very fulfilling, and just about all I intend to do in the future. I hope that my sincere personal devotion to providing quality family law advice and representation in the local area will have a beneficial effect overall on the individuals who make Bloomington-Normal and the surrounding area “home” to me, and I will try to continue to remain accessible to provide assistance wherever it is needed despite the necessity of limiting my caseload.
I have been blessed to enjoy partnership roles at the Law Office of Ronda D. Taylor Glenn and subsequently at Cox & Fulk, after working as an associate at both firms and, initially, as a Staff Attorney handling family law and domestic violence cases for the non-profit Prairie State Legal Services. This path from legal aid to private partnership has allowed me to learn extensively from formidable mentors, colleagues and opposing attorneys. It has also allowed me to represent many persons of limited means and many persons with substantial wealth, and to settle hundreds of amiable cases and to try hundreds of contested cases. I have learned through all this experience that family law issues can affect people of all sorts, but that family law clientele tend to have one thing in common: they are not having their best days when I meet them, and are hoping that better days lie ahead.
Family law is often emotionally difficult. I seek to minimize and avoid unnecessary disputes and thereby conserve financial resources and personal amiability within families. I seek to avoid acting in any manner contrary to the well-being of any child. Where called for by circumstance, I zealously advocate for my client’s interests in the courtroom, mindful that my actions and arguments affect real lives. These efforts are supported at Fulk Family Law by experienced dedicated family law paralegals who share the same goals.
If you are involved or may become involved in a Central Illinois family law matter, or need family law advice, I am confident that you will find a conversation with us worthwhile and helpful.
